How We Help
-
We have had numerous clients come to us, who are paying for an expensive Medigap plan around $250 per month, plus a prescription drug plan, dental and vision coverage as well as paying their Part B premium.
While working with them, we discover that they qualify for special help through their state, extra help that they were not even aware of.
We help them apply for the state program and if approved, we move them onto a new plan that has saved clients thousands of dollars a year. -
Many individuals who qualify for Medicare are still on employer health insurance. Either because they are working, or their spouse is.
We sit down with them and compare their employer health insurance and their options with Medicare. This process is not an apples-to-apples comparison and special care needs to be taken when factoring in both insurance benefits and costs.
When that analysis is completed, we can confidently recommend whether to stay on the employer plan or move onto Medicare. In some instances, it might make sense for one spouse to move onto Medicare and the other stay on the employer plan.
We not only take this approach with employees, but we also review benefit options with business owners. We have managed to save companies thousands of dollars a year by moving an owner off their company’s health insurance and onto Medicare.
-
Sadly, it is not uncommon for someone to stop getting service from the agent who originally signed them up for their Medicare plan.
When we come across a person in this predicament, we review their current Medicare plan, along with both their health and financial situations. After the review we do one of three things.
- We recommend that they stay in their current plan, and we offer to review the plan options available during the next Annual Election Period.
- We recommend a new plan that fits their situation better than their current plan.
- Apply for extra help from the state and if approved, move them on to a more appropriate plan.
-
SIC also adopts new clients who have moved into our service area from another state. We take the time to look up doctors that they need and find the most cost saving local pharmacy.
-
We all know how confusing medical billing can be. We pride ourselves on working with doctor offices and the insurance companies to clarify medical bills for our clients. In some instances, we have helped identify billing code issues, thus reducing the cost to our client.
Our Agency truly believes that there are no bad guys when it comes to the insurance company, doctor, client relationship.

The day-to-day complexity of an HR professional cannot be overstated. SIC has partnered with local HR representatives to take on the role of educator and guide for employees nearing retirement. We hold lunch and learn Medicare 101s for employees and we create timelines for future retirees. Timelines are necessary to prevent retirees from missing deadlines or incurring lifetime penalties.
We also discuss how the automatic enrollment into Medicare Part A effects HSA contributions.

Financial Advisors bring us in to educate their partners and high net worth clients. We discuss the complexities that some clients face when enrolling into Medicare, including the Income Related Adjustment Amount (IRMAA) and the effect Medicare has on HSAs.
